In his role as assistant vice president for arts and humanities in 91´«Ã½ Research, Ed will serve as principal investigator on the grant.
The transformative investment includes a $3 million from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. It is paired with more than $4 million in matching and in-kind support to establish a network of creative spaces, shared production facilities, public programming, and regional resources to serve the —an 11-county region in southern Indiana that includes Monroe County.
Major projects in the initiative include:
- A new arts incubator in downtown Bloomington.
- A 10,000-square-foot shared production hub for music, theater, recording, and fabrication.
- Expanded arts programming at Bloomington’s Switchyard Park.
- A regional Uplands Creatives online platform connecting artists with grants, events, and resources.
In a recent about the project, Ed said, “This investment creates the pathways, partnerships, and shared resources that will help more people build creative careers here, strengthen local economies, and contribute to the vitality of communities across southern Indiana.”
